During the time we worked together, I repeatedly saw Andrey take ownership of an entire project rather than simply being responsible for one part of the design. When a project was under his responsibility, he independently structured the design process: diving into the product, defining the direction, breaking down the work, making key decisions, and ensuring the quality of the result at every stage.
For me as a Team Lead, this was especially valuable because Andrey did not require constant supervision. I could join at important checkpoints, discuss complex decisions with him, and be confident that the project would continue moving forward between those syncs. At the same time, he knows when to raise a concern if he sees a risk, a contradiction in the product logic, or a decision that should be reconsidered.
On projects where other designers worked alongside him, Andrey also took on a leadership role: helping to distribute and guide design work, conducting reviews, maintaining consistency across solutions, and mentoring designers. What I appreciate is that he does not simply tell someone what needs to be changed. He explains the reasoning and helps the person arrive at a stronger solution themselves.
Another important quality of Andrey is that he constantly looks for ways to improve not only a specific project, but also the way the team works. He contributed to developing our internal design processes, created a Figma template that later became a standard for the team, and actively introduced AI into the workflow. In particular, he developed an approach to AI-assisted wireframing to speed up the early stages of design and, as a result, reduce the overall time spent on a project.
At the same time, he maintains a very high standard for the design itself. He has a strong sense of UI, notices small inconsistencies, and does not leave a solution at the level of "good enough" when he knows it can be made stronger.
For me, Andrey is a designer you can trust with a complex project and expect not only high-quality design, but also ownership of the direction, the team, and the final outcome. I confidently recommend him as a strong Senior Product Designer.
